To combat crime syndicates and gangs encroaching more on the Dutch State, which has started to turn Holland into a narco state, and fearing retaliation and deaths if they commit their own overwhelmed security forces, the Dutch Government turns to a novel solution to deal with the problem: recruit a top, experienced crime family from the crime capital of the world - the USA - to come from Harlem, New York and settle in The Netherlands in exchange for free health care and education benefits, tax breaks, and the protection of the Dutch Government as long as they work toward cleaning up violent crime and push out existing, uncontrollable groups. They could become very rich doing this - even if the Dutch government insists they pay taxes like everyone else. What ever crime business they take over, they get the lion's share. The only catch is that whatever they do, it has to be as good for Holland as for them. With kids to raise and the deteriorating state of American health care, one family is recruited to come to Holland in Season 1 to live, all expenses paid by the Dutch Government. Though the Government wanted them to stay in a handpicked villa in remote Zeeland, near crime-ridden Rotterdam, the family chooses instead to live in one of the richest neighborhoods in the country, where some top government ministers live themselves, and which could not be a bigger contrast to the place where they emmigrated from: Harlem USA. They choose to settle, of course, in Haarlem, NL.
This series concept is "Lilliehammer," but in Holland, and with a crime family recruited from America to push back on crime, for a stake of the profits and benefits.
