Nycticorax es una percusiva obra para piano a 4 manos, donde el 75% del tiempo los dos ejecutantes actúan dentro del piano, en contacto directo con los bordones. Contínua variación en el flujo rítmico que proviene del antiguo martinete flamenco, incluyendo un magistral "zapateado con los nudillos" a cargo de Jorge Gijón, que junto conmigo dió vida a este fascinante pájaro-obra.

“Cuando el pájaro del sueño pensó hacer su nido en mi pupila, vio las pestañas y le aterró la red”. Con esta cita del poeta árabe Ben-al-Hamara, que da nombre a la obra, se abren las puertas de una extraña e hipnótica sucesión de parajes orgánicos. El influjo andalusí va implícito en los dos instrumentos, que circularmente se comunican frente a frente, como si de dos espejos mágicos se trataran. Esta guitarra es clásica y contemporánea. Destila rock y recita en alto flamenco. Este piano es oscuro y romántico. En un momento es agua subterránea, en otro el corazón de un niño, ventanas a mundos diminutos, el galope atronador e irreversible de avanzar sin miedo hacia la muerte. Todo confluye finalmente en un apasionada confesión interrumpida con violencia por la batalla que anuncia el no ser.

Oración para un invierno mágico, es una fantasía impresionista para flauta y piano.Con una estructura en mosaico, alterna una melancolía infinita con alegres estallidos de luz.

El Interludio es una melodía circular de pocas notas que comienza y termina con tritono. (Ascendente y descendente, respectivamente). Puede imaginar una mágica luciérnaga en su interior. La mano izquierda recuerda a Satie y a una tarde quieta de cierto sopor.

Preludio de Nitrógeno II recibe ése nombre por ser algo que se encuentra en el aire, géiseres tritonianos aparte. Entre Berg, Takemitsu, y un punto de sensibilidad francesa que al final deja entrever una luz mediterránea.
