Omni Design - A Framework for Complex Transformations
08/17/2025
Luiz David Szilagyi
Abstract Enterprise transformations—particularly those involving mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs—are notoriously difficult to execute successfully. The scale of complexity extends beyond individual projects, spilling into programmes that entangle strategy, governance, data, engineering, operations, and organizational dynamics. Traditional frameworks such as TOGAF, McKinsey’s Three Horizons, and Gartner’s Pace Layering offer useful perspectives, yet remain insufficient when applied to the turbulence of contemporary environments characterised by digital disruption, fluctuating markets, political instability, and rapid technological change. This paper introduces Omni Design, a novel framework for transformation that integrates canonical approaches while advancing original constructs designed to account for systemic complexity. Omni Design proceeds through a structured pathway: Strategy → Organizational Design → Enterprise Architecture → Enterprise Solution Architecture → Engineering → Operations → End-of-Solution-Lifecycle. Its distinctive contributions include the Insight-to-Implementation (I-to-I) process, the Cortex-to-Vortex model for enterprise architecture, the Data Vortex construct for governing complexity in solution design, the Design-to-MVP engineering principle, and the introduction of Vortex Bonanza as a state of induced stability to reduce staff turnover. In demonstrating value, Omni Design relies on Wardley Mapping, extending it with Cartesian perspectives of value against people, processes, and technology. The framework is pragmatic, insofar as it integrates methods from TOGAF, Cynefin, CAF, and DMBOK, while academic in its development of systemic theory, structural integrity, and confluence of multiple traditions. The author’s own contributions—Quick Target Operating Model (QTOM), methodologies for Enterprise Solution Architecture, and structured use of Artificial Intelligence in transformation programmes—further enrich the model. Ultimately, Omni Design provides enterprises with a holistic approach to navigate the vortex of complexity, inducing periods of stability, aligning transformation with value, and safeguarding organizational integrity.

Event Based Architecture
08/16/2025
Luiz David Szilagyi
architectural and analytical ecosystem. At the table level, status is stored and updated through CRUD operations on database rows, while at the entity level, status embodies the business meaning and lifecycle of objects such as orders, employees, or materials. A change in status not only represents a data update but also generates a domain event, which becomes the driving signal in Event-Driven Architecture. These events are routed and safeguarded by Hexagonal Architecture, ensuring that business rules are consistently applied within the domain. Within Domain-Driven Design (DDD), status transitions enforce invariants and are articulated in the ubiquitous language of each bounded context. Finally, the sequence of logged status changes forms the raw data for Process Mining, enabling organizations to uncover how processes actually unfold in practice. By tracing this chain — from CRUD to Process Mining — the paper positions status as the gateway concept linking persistence, architecture, domain modeling, and business insight.

Enterprise Solution Architecture Method - ESAM
08/10/2025
Luiz David Szilagyi
This work is based on years of experience in the field, and aims to describe a method, that can help Solution Architects to write more effectively the Solution Design. It is based on FURPS+ (Copyright IBM Rational and HP), UML, RICEFW and CAF. It explains how to use the 3 Pillars, Narrative, Diagram and Catalogue, in a High Level. It includes other sections/areas that may be included according to the Evolution of the IT. This Method, is called evolutionary, starts with the As-Is State, progress to Intermediary States, and then To-Be State.

Ecosystem Architecture Diagram
08/10/2025
Luiz David Szilagyi
This document covers the creation of a new kind of diagram, where Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects, can see the data diagram of IT Ecosystems in a certain point of time. It can be used to identify the As-Is, Intermediary states, and the To-Be, and supports the decision making at Data Level; Keep, Extend, Retire, Integrate, etc. It uses an Extension of UML, Component Diagrams, Class Diagrams.
