About the work
Technical paper and reference firmware implementation of NEXAL-M2M, a peer-to-peer semantic coordination protocol for LoRa radio networks operating without gateways, servers, or pre-existing infrastructure. Includes the NEXAL-Lite frame specification (128-byte fixed frame with HMAC-SHA256 integrity, hardware-bound node identity, and ULS-224 semantic payload), the Trust-K autonomous trust establishment mechanism with post-reboot resynchronization, and results from six independent field experiments conducted in Buenos Aires, Argentina, demonstrating sustained point-to-point links at 15.9 km using SF7 modulation on ESP32-S3/SX1262 hardware. Applicable to vehicular coordination, autonomous systems, UAVs, maritime, emergency response, critical infrastructure monitoring, and LEO satellite links with physical layer adaptation. Reference firmware released under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Related to UODI Protocol, USPTO Provisional 63/993,355.
