About the work
1875. When Nuecestown was burned to the ground by Mexican raiders sent north by Pedro Flores, they killed everyone in sight. A spree of death and violence crossed the southeastern part of the state. In reprisal, the Anglo-Texans joined into mobs to exact revenge on anyone who spoke Spanish. The results were a tit-for-tat war that burned across Texas and Northern Mexico.
When the Brackenridge ranch is assaulted, and a woman is taken hostage, the Texas Rangers join the fray. Men with shiny silver stars wreaked havoc on all those who broke the law. The Nueces Strip war had begun.
