About the work
Marcus and Olivia have been together for three years now. They live in an apartment in Edinburgh: she is a bookseller and he is an engineer. Their life seems perfect: they get along with each other’s families, every now and then they hang out with their group of friends, which is like a second family to them, and they are very much in love with each other. But, while on the surface it might seem perfect, there are things you can’t always see. It’s a day like any other, when Olivia finds a letter from Marcus, it’s just after she realizes what he did, that she goes to their favorite place where she finds him, lifeless. A year goes by, Olivia lives in a small apartment full of empty bottles of liquors and smoked cigarettes. Her friends and family try to help her, but she refuses to live a life where Marcus isn’t a part of it. She finds herself in front of a crossroad: keep living her life without facing her pain, hiding behind smoke and alcohol or try to live the life Marcus wanted for her and getting back to where she left.
