Lyrics POEMS:
If I didn’t write poems, maybe I’d sell flowers,
or try to fly as if nothing mattered,
or serve as a bridge or a silence between things.
If I didn’t write poems, maybe I wouldn’t live,
nor understand that everything is the return of everything,
that all this has already happened and will keep happening.
If I didn’t write verses, I don’t know what else to tell you,
how to explain what goes on inside me,
where the wind leads when you are the kite escaping its string.
If I didn’t write poems, maybe I wouldn’t exist,
maybe the most beautiful image of you,
as a record to transcend time.
So if I didn’t write poems,
you would never have been you,
and I would never have found all these words.
