About the work

Arie Veneziane is a hybrid orchestral and vocal project combining human lyrical performances with minimal AI assistance.
All vocal parts are performed by real human singers whose expressive interpretation and phrasing guided the entire creative process.
The orchestral suites were developed through a controlled workflow where AI tools were used only as supportive instruments for arrangement refinement and textural enhancement, always under direct human artistic supervision.

This collection explores the spiritual and emotional resonance of Venice, its light, faith, and water, through a dialogue between human voices and a contemporary orchestral soundscape.
No generative AI was employed for the core composition, melodic structure, or vocal identity. Every final decision in tone, emotion, and production reflects a human-led creative vision.

SUMMARY

This piece is a cinematic–Baroque orchestral suite in Baroque style, titled Vox Lagunae, shaped through a hybrid human–AI workflow but dominated by human authorship. The human composer defined the atmosphere (Venice at dusk, golden reflections), the musical identity (Baroque chamber intimacy evolving into orchestral fullness), the emotional direction, and the 3:30+ structural arc leading to a radiant cadence.

Instrumentation, tempo, harmonic colours, and all expressive contours were set by the human author: strings, harpsichord, warm organ, oboe, and mixed orchestral phrasing. Human creative design also established the presence of a human mezzo-soprano voice in the style and expressive identity of Lara Rotili, singing wordless sacred vowels (“ah”, “oo”, “mmm”). Although the final track uses AI generated orchestral suites, these lines, vowel shapes, breathing style, expressive contour, and tessitura were all defined and guided by human vocal expectations, making the AI perform under human-directed vocal shaping.

Both the Suno style prompt and the lyrics/stage-cue prompt (not reproduced here) acted as the detailed architectural blueprint. AI generated the orchestral material and wordless mezzo-soprano’ voice (Lara Rotili) was used under strict human directives defining timbre, dynamics, Baroque phrasing, ceremonial movement, and the sacred cinematic energy leading to the crescendo.

Human intervention remained essential through structural refinement, dynamic balancing, harmonic pacing, counterpoint correction, shaping the mezzo-soprano rise, and guiding the orchestral flow.
Finally, the work underwent two hours of DAW remix and masterisation for TuneCore, where the human producer refined reverb depth, spectral balance, chamber vs. orchestral transitions, and the fading cadence over distant bells.

Overall, the work is human-led with AI contributing as a controlled orchestral and vocal rendering engine guided entirely by human vocal and orchestral design.
