About the work
The heart won’t understand what the mind already knows,
and the soul still whispers what time won’t show.
Which call is stronger — the one that tears you apart,
or the one that breaks your truths and rewires your heart?
To step outside your skin, your thoughts, your breath,
just for a second, to escape from death.
But chaos came like a storm through the door,
and what you loved hurt you… to the core.
He burned the bridges, every one,
and the quake destroyed what I'd become.
There are goodbyes that feel like dying,
griefs you never truly leave behind.
Even waking with rage and clarity bright,
I still choke on the pain in the middle of night.
He died — or worse, maybe he never was real…
And I’m left asking: What was the point to feel?
You bleed, but don’t die — drop by drop.
You blame yourself for not making it stop.
You wonder if he ever really stayed,
or if long ago… he walked away.
I don’t blame him. Not anymore.
You can’t ask depth from someone hollow at the core.
He was never mine — I created him whole,
a character I wrote, then met in my soul.
There are goodbyes that feel like fire,
like ghosts dragging you through the mire.
And though we laughed like the world was gold,
he faded away, turned distant, turned cold.
He was my name, my skin, my flame,
but it was all… a beautiful game.
A king blind to his worth and grace,
surrounded by masks, by shallow space.
But I saw him — so real, so clear,
while I was never what he held dear.
He lost me, even if he doesn’t know.
I was his… in lifetimes below.
And he ran, afraid of what he’d find,
leaving no answer, not even a sign.
Now I’m here, trying to breathe again,
after him… after the pain.
Learning who I am without his voice,
finding my own name… my own choice.
After him...
after the fall...
after losing it all...
I’m still standing. That’s all.
