EL PROBLEMA con Menéndez Pelayo es que cultiva tal nivel de fanatismo (es más un libelista que un crítico) que no consigue hablarnos de los heterodoxos sin opinar y sobreopinar sobre ellos. No hay manera de hacerse una idea de quién fue el krausista Sanz del Río o el afrancesado Llorente, porque los denuestos que les dirige el autor son tan constantes que el lector no consigue hacerse un claro entre tanto ruido. Me parece más adecuado el modo de historiar de Plutarco, por ejemplo en su Alcibíade
