About the work
Legacy of Valor is a modern orchestral composition created for a Heroic Action First-Person Shooter (FPS) and Narrative Adventure game, set in a war-torn Colombian jungle. This cinematic music cue accompanies a scene involving a military intelligence outpost and a civilian rescue zone.
The piece blends classical orchestration with regional and contemporary influences, including woodwinds (flute and oboe), brass (trumpets and horns), strings (staccato and pizzicato), Flamenco guitar, castanets, FX pads, and global percussion to evoke a powerful emotional arc.
The score honors the memory of my late brother, a Colombian soldier and intelligence officer whose legacy of courage and humanitarian service inspired the heroic theme of the composition. Flutes and oboes sing his melody, while rhythmic string interplay and bold brass reflect the danger, hope, and nobility of his mission.
Composed and produced by Sandra M. Granobles using Cubase Pro, Halion, Dorico, and virtual instruments, this music was created as part of a professional game music scoring course and is intended for educational and non-commercial use.
