Naju is a boy from the Amazon who has reached the age to start sleeping alone. He has grown along side his family. He is three and his mother is weaning him. As a compensation, he will recive a valuable gift. But Naju, is scared of the dark and of the sounds of the jungle at night.
Beatriz Bermúdez Rothe, who lived and worked with Indigenous peoples of the Venezualan Amazon región, narrates what happens on the first night Naju sleeps alone. Yanira Calvo Torres, a Young Navarra artist, provides the illustration.
