A young mother on the run from an assassin hands off her child in desperation to a perfect stranger on a tube or subway train before being killed by the assassin. For the next 6 episodes, audiences will have to ask themselves the same question the man who has the child must ask himself: how far will he, and would you go to protect the life of a stranger's child? Especially one whose life or death has political consequences not only for the man who has him, but his country - in this case Britain.
