Son unas gafas completamente plásticas que disponen de dos niveles en perpendicular.
Con estas gafas se resuelve el problema de posicionamiento correcto para hacer radiografías panorámicas.
Para la obtención de una radiografía correcta el paciente debe estar colocado con el plano interpupilar paralelo al suelo y sin inclinar la cabeza hacia delante o hacia atrás.
Actualmente al realizar esta radiografía el paciente para posicionarlo muerde un vástago del propio aparato. El problema es que esto no impide que pueda ladear la cabeza o inclinarse hacia delante a pesar de estar mordiendo el vástago de posicionamiento.
Si la cabeza no está perfectamente colocada salen distorsiones en la radiografía que pueden llevar a errores diagnósticos.
