About the work
Eduardo Karsten, a young man from Venezuela’s German Colony town Tovar, who always secretly wanted to become a profesional musician, struggles while working as a farmer with his conservative father, Hermann Karsten.
One day, Eduardo is filmed by his cousin while asking his girlfriend Emma Fendler to marry him through a song he sings and plays. After she refuses and shames him, he begs for her acceptance. Without success, everything turns south when the humiliating rejection video goes viral by accident.
Just when Eduardo thinks that his social life is over, Isabel Garner, a young and engaged producer sees Eduardo’s video, finds him and persuades him to participate in a music competition in Caracas that could bring him success in the industry. Eduardo accepts to take part while lying to his father in order to get financial support.
Eduardo and Isabel work hard and get really intimate in the process. Later on, everything starts to tumble when Isabel secretly visits Eduardo at his home town. Hermann Karsten, Eduardo’s dad, finds out that Eduardo’s been lying to him about his trips to the capital and decides to stop supporting him financially. Eduardo refuses to abandon his pursuit.
When the dead line of the competition gets close, Isabel finds out that Eduardo did not follow what was agreed when the competition started by singing and playing an unauthorized original song through the radio. Eduardo tries to explain it was a misunderstanding, but she feels betrayed and abandons him. Later on, Eduardo finds out he was not chosen as the winner. Devastated, he asks his father to pick him up.
Finally, Eduardo is recognized by his father after hearing his song in the radio and then encouraged by him to keep working to fulfill his dream. Forward a few years, Eduardo is hired to sing and play in Isabel’s wedding. In the event, Eduardo takes advantage of the opportunity to thank Isabel for being the one who made him follow his dream and to give her one last goodbye.
