In 2040, cybernetics continues to work on improving robotic bodies for human brain implants. Cyborgs are now commonplace, with several thousand individuals worldwide.
Francisco Sanchez, the first cyborg officially recognised as such by the United Nations, is called for consultation on the occasion of the announcement of the First Cyborg Olympics, promoted by the American company WorldBorg.
But his work as a cybernetics expert (from the research side, but also as the first patient) takes him to Munich, Germany, where the first cyborg suicide has been registered. The autopsy of the first body will uncover an illegal plot to develop modified robotic bodies, which will splash several leading companies.
Now, Francisco could become their target... No one wants to lose his share of that new business.
