About the work
In 1840 the Great Raid across Texas was perpetrated by the Penateka Comanche Chief Buffalo Hump. He and his five hundred warrior braves swept a path across the state of Texas from the east all the way to the shores of the Golf of Mexico in the west. They burned the port town of Lynnville to the ground never to be rebuilt.
The Texas Rangers retaliated at the battle of Plum Creek and a running battle ensued. This action once again heightened the violence between the Army, Comanche and Texas Rangers.
As Tuc and Potak sign on with the famed buy young captain John Coffee Hayes, they assist them in saving a wagon train and tracking down the famous Comanche Chief Iron Jacket.
