ANTHONY (30s) is a standout in high school who’s now falling into addiction. He returns from yet another rehab to learn that his brother, DOMINIC, demoted him on their Pennsylvania mushroom farm and replaced him with SANTIAGO, an undocumented worker.
Anthony's plans to rebuild his life soon fall apart. He relapses, gets involved in a love triangle with his dealer's girlfriend (JUANA), and faces pressure from his sister-in-law to leave. Giving in to the bigotry pushed on him by his buddies, he lashes out by reporting the farm to Immigration & Customs Enforcement, leading to Santiago’s death.
Seeing the harm he’s done and his brother’s cold-heartedness, Anthony finds his resolve. When the drug dealer comes looking for Juana, he sacrifices himself to save her in a final act of redemption.
