Kike and his sister Marta are two children from a humble background who join a private school when their father is hired there as a janitor. They feel out of a place at first, so they shut themselves away in their passion, music, thrying to isolate themselves from everything around them. But thing get complicated when Greta, the most insufferable student in the school, steals one of their songs and becomes the new pop star singing it.
SYNOPSIS
Marqués de Ensenada is a private school where some of the wealthiest children in the country study. But the arrival of two children will change everything: Kike and his sister Marta come from a humble background and the only reason there are there is that Néstor, their widow father, has just been hired as the new school janitor, so they have the chance to study there.
Kike and Marta are both cheerful and sparky, but they soon come up against the school atmosphere. They find it hard to adapt to their new home and their new friends. They specially Clash with the pretensions of Greta, the insufferable and yet most popular student in Marqués de Ensenada, who insists on making their lives miserable. They try to bring some joy into the school while helping their father with the heart of Ms. Márquez, the adorable teacher he has fallen in love with. But livening up the school is no easy task. Not even for them.
Everything changes when they devote themselves entirely to their real passion: music. Marta is the Singer and Kike is the composer. One night, they sneak into the school radio studio to have a song recorded. The next day, the school DK, whom Marta is crazy in love with, finds the recording and plays it, unaware who is the author.
Everyone shares it and the song becomes a hit. They can´t say the song is theirs, as it would involve admitting they had used the studio without permission, and their father would be fired. So Greta, who also likes the DJ, pretends to be the author of the song. A record company soon makes her an offer to turn her into a star, but Greta has zero talent for music so, when she finds out Marta and Kike are behind all this, she blackmails them into making more songs for her. Will Marta and Kike be able to overcome all these setbacks and become more successful by their own means in the music world?
The Beat Family is a story about self-improvement, a story to encourage respect for the other, regardless of their background, and respect for other people’s work and talent.
