About the work
The project was constructed by recording two sounds generated with a golden stereo jack plug male 6,35mm/ female 3,5mm rolled and bounced upon an old wooden kitchen table. Then sounds was processed with some Max/msp paches and with GRM tools. The results was catalogued by generating sound and achieved timber. The structure was realized during the editing and it is composed by four macro sections:
exposition of materials generated by rolling sound;
exposition of materials generated by bouncing sound;
dialoge between them;
conclusion.
Although the majority of materials was generated before the editing, some objects was created during the working because of aesthetic and musical needs.
For exemple, inside the recording of the sound produced by the rolling movement one can hear a kind of high-pitched whistle near 20Khz, probably dued to very high frequences bounced down during digital conversion. This element is realy clear when the file is reproduced slowly. After it was isolated from other frequencies it was further processed, catalogated and included inside the editing (first macro section).
The listener is placed inside an abstract ambient and he's conducted within a virtual journey between immaginary creatures and entity. During the listenig one will pass through different locations, caracterized by different kind of reverberation, in which objects chasing each other, near and far.
