About the work
«Punished to Live» is an adaptation to English of my novel «Castigado a vivir», first part of my trilogy «Where Memory Dwell»s.
«Punished to Live» is a novel that makes a journey through the childhood memories of its protagonist: Fernando Rivas. The plot is set in the last years of Franco’s dictatorship and in the early years of the Transition.
It is written mostly using the speech of consciousness style –a melancholic and descriptive tone prevails–, with which the narrator tries to put in order his memories on some events that would mark his life forever.
