A British scientist of the 19th century studying the coast of West Africa becomes close friends with a native african young woman, Ayawa. One day, his research shows that the island in which Ayawa lives is about to suffer a catastrophic natural event and sets off to take her away from there to save her life. But nature won’t actually be holding the greatest danger they will have to face to survive.
