About the work
For many decades, psychologists and philosophers have researched and debated the origins of our sense of morality; particularly, cultural and social influences and how we as arrive at a certain moral judgment. Cognitive-developmental theories have dominated the study of moral development for decades. However, in recent years intuitionism has become an increasingly popular theory to explain the moral phenomenon. The main objective of this paper is to, embrace the plausible aspects of the various theories, dispute what is questionable, and try to find common ground among the different ideas that attempt to explain human morality.
