Erotica is an erotic poetry book, written by Fiore Hassel. It contains 27 poems that tell a story, if not many. From the exciting beginning, the emotional and moral ravages, to the inscrutable breaking point. Erotica is an epistolary of unsent confessions; a letter, a personal diary in the form of poetry. It recounts the intimacy with different people from beginning to end, and even in phases of disappointment and absolute rupture, it manages to maintain the sensual and reflective essence of the simple truth of life: everything begins and ends, and there is beauty in that too. Despite each ending, it embarks on each beginning with enthusiasm and authenticity. It shows us that, even if everything ends, there is no reason not to get lost in a golden touch, in the inescapable magnetism of someone's lips edge; it invites us to wander the edges between everything and nothing, between just skin and soul, and it teaches us that you can have been hurt countless times and still wish for permanence, to be seen in invisibility, for someone to stay, for someone to dance with us. A set of poems, stories, of things left unsaid, that prove that there is no place for eroticism without the risk of intimacy or emptiness. A truth that, irremediably, makes us humans.

Prescribed for Torment is a poetry book of 75 poems and many, many ghosts in it. In this edition, Hassel, as usual, delivers recycled experiences turned into poetry, introducing such in a state of emotional distress and torment not seen this way from her before. And while some wonder what happens after happy endings and newfound love, Hassel tells us on a skin and mind-heart level what happens when we don't over and over again. Now the question is, what do you do with all of the ghosts? In the three subdivisions of the book we can already foresee the general theme and downhill drive of the tormenting experiences. From nostalgic perspectives, transitions of obsessive thinking and feeling and going back to moments of loss, to innocent solitude turned into absolute, excruciating absence in times of desperation in declarations of love, lost love, loss of the self and sarcastically embracing societal low-minded conceptualizations when finally, such expositions from a young woman equals misinterpretation, and therefore, the loneliest notion that we can never authentically be known or understood, even by those who once seemed so close and once knew us. And more interestingly, what does acceptance or a happy ending finally look like once the torment has ended? Does it ever end?
