When I was a child my father was given a book with illustrations of old Europe. I saw it with the illusion of knowing each and every one of those places. So far I have only been able to physically visit a few of them. However, the Internet, and more specifically Google Maps, has given me the opportunity to get to know them virtually. What I bring here is a comparison of those nineteenth-century engravings that illustrated my childhood with today's reality. What remains of our past? How much have the cities, towns and even landscapes of the Old Continent changed? I hope that this little exercise in nostalgia is to your liking.
