Short story. Fiction. In Spanish.
This is a story about a hitman nick named "El tuerto" ("The One-Eyed") who goes to Belize to kill a guy who betrayed his boss and to sleep again with a woman he had once slept with before. The story is narrated in first person and tells how El Tuerto arranges to torture and kill El Pambo, a guy who manages an ilegal landing strip in the middle of the Belizean countryside. Intertwined with this story is the story of El Tuerto´s reencounter with Lisbeth, how he convinces her to sleep with him again, and then ends up kicking her out of his hotel room. A third aspect of the story is how El Tuerto finds a spooky, one-eyed mannequin doll on the porch of an abandoned house. He grows fond of the mannequin and passes by every time he can, saluting it. Eventually, he takes a picture of it and decides to turn it into his own, personal saint.
