Invierno
01/29/2022
This is how winter sounds in these days. Granchild is a four channel granular script that let's you play with samples using the Grid. You can modify a few granular paramaters live and it's very fun. In this case, these samples came from the Synthstrom Deluge from which I previously recorded 4 phrases in the 4 channels. On top of that I also sequenced a few notes in three tracks with the Deluge's sequencer.

Paisaje urbano

Based in the minimalist music from the 60s and 70s from Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Philip Glass and others. Using a Zoom H1n handy recorder I recorded three simple 15secs piano loops in my Monome Norns. Using Cheat Codes 2 you slice each of these 3 loops into 16 slices, so you have a lot of little elements you can reorder and repeat to create new music. You then use the Grid to "play" with these elements live in 3 layers of music. Euclidean rhythms were used to play all the samples. It's very fun to make rhythmic variations altering the parameters, changing the density and lenght of the loops to create 5, 6, 7 and 10 pattern lenghts in beautiful polymeters. On top of that I used the Deluge to play some synth sounds and a bass.

Durante la noche
06/15/2020
With a paused dense atmosphere that invites to reflexion, this music is made to be heard in the quiet of the night. I wanted to use my Digitech reverb and delay pedals with the acoustic piano, to create these singular textures that transform the sound of the piano. Look forward to the end of the video when I connect the reverse delay! Besides the piano, I also used Logic's Retro Synth for the strings, a lead sound from the Synthstrom Deluge, and Digitech Polara and Obscura pedals.
