Enredos en redes sociales
08/30/2018

OTRORA
03/04/2018
Otrora is a methodology designed to fill the gap between the process of planning the project baseline and the process of controlling and monitoring that baseline. The objective of project planning, and particularly of scheduling, is not to achieve a wise-guess of what is going to happen along the project life. On the contrary, it is intended to be a common action plan shared by all the stakeholders. The agreed baseline will be the reference to detect deviations that could eventually lead to the project failure. The selection of appropriate thresholds will warn when actions are required. Thus, to make decisions about the near future action plan we need to know the current status of the project at any given time. We need to measure the project. Moreover, it is a common issue in complex projects that Project Controls professionals have to deal with progress measurement systems that are far more detailed than their schedules. This produces a mismatch between two reporting strategies that are equally crucial for a good project monitoring. On the one hand, a detailed progress measurement system gives the best insight of the current status of the project. On the other hand, project schedule allows forecasting. Hence, Otrora design lays in two main concepts: 1. The project must be measured with the same ruler we have used during the planning process. 2. Project Schedule and Progress Measurement System must work coordinated along the whole Project Life Cycle exchanging current status information and forecast dates. So, Otrora is a tool designed to synchronize the project measurement system with the schedule development and update in an integrated process that guides the project controller from the schedule development to the project monitoring seamlessly. **Thanks to Freekip for designing the logo used for Otrora image and making it publically available at flaticon.com. **
