This project compares the effects that different lining methods have had in early posters. In order to achieve this goal, early posters lined with different methods and materials have been studied. Posters from the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) have been selected for this study and the condition of these cultural assets has been compared to posters of the same print run located at Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) in Barcelona. As each museum has a copy of the selected posters, the interest of this comparison remains in the fact that differences in the condition of posters with the same characteristics would be due to external agents such as conservation interventions such as linings.
