Cardiologist Who Fought 800-lb. Gorilla Ending with a thrilling courtroom drama, this logically written novel with strong psychological insight blatantly and honestly exposes the dark side of medicine—so read it at your own risk. Medicine is at crossroads. Learning and practicing medicine in a classical style is on decline. Those having a genuine commitment to the art of medicine are suffering—even in the field like medicine, packaging and marketing has become more important. Because of this decline of clinical medicine, physicians no longer evoke trust in their patients, and patients are forced to trust machines or technology. The misplaced trust has led to proliferation of ‘apparently scientific’ treatments, as can be expected in this age of technology. This novel on medical ethics broadly raises issues as above. Particularly raised is the issue of angioplasty, stents, and bypass surgery. Can such treatments be challenged and proved flawed in the court of law? Yes. This is exactly what happens in Supreme Court of India, when protagonist is charged with manslaughter not amounting to murder u/ s 304-A of IPC. What has the protagonist done to attract such a fate? He is a highly intelligent cardiologist. Why has he put his life and professional career on a stake? What are his motives? In Supreme Court, he claims his motive is highest good of humanity. Either he or the profession of cardiology is to be proved guilty. It is an unequal fight, a fight against 800-lb. Gorilla. This novel will take the reader into inner labyrinths of medicine and cardiology, the guilty professions. The roots of malady are shown to be international. Apparently logical treatments turn out to be grossly illogical. There is no or very little evidence supporting the widespread use of angioplasty, stents, and bypass; and the evidence against them is growing. Why are these treatments flourishing? What is more? Guidelines for using these treatments turn out to be faulty and of poor quality; and guideline authors are ridden with conflict of interest. The profession of cardiology has so much to hide that has been exposed in this novel. Interspersed with cardiology and medicine is a poignant love story.

This exquisite book is divided into three parts. The first one narrates the short story My little fairy; in which a make a tribute to all mothers, for giving us the gift of life, and many other things we usually don`t see or appreciate. The second part is an anthology of 80 poems that are amongst my favorite. The poems are about almost everything but most of all I talk about life and death, sadness, loneliness, separation, hurting, melancholy, broken hearts, and more. The third part is a short tale named: Beto, the black cat. This tale is my first one in my series of Orange Feathers and Tales of Picis. It is an entertaining story with a message, as all my Picis tales. I really hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Un mal sueño que vive en mi corazón.

Memory esta inspirado en mi animal favorito y los colores de mi aura. El Elefante es uno de los animales más majestuosos, gerárquicos, matriarcales y de una memoria inigualable. Sus caractersticas, facciones y sus propósitos, lo hacen tener una experiencia ancestral. Es ahí donde me identifico como ser humano. Es un arte original creada en canvas 24x30. En ella podras ver y sentir materiales a relieve como: yeso, brillos de diferentes texturas, pintura acrílica y fluida.

Ésta pieza llamada: "Olas y Arenas", está inspirada en la música y en la naturaleza. Como puertorriqueña, estoy ligada a un sentimiento estrecho por la naturalezay la música. Para mí, no hay nada más relajante que sentarte en alguna playa borincana y escuchar una buena música como: el bolero 'Olas y Arenas' de Silvia Rexach o 'El mar y el cielo' del Trio Los Panchos, entre otros cantantes y generos musicales. Entonces, justo así nació ésta pieza. La creé sobre un canvas de 16x20. En ella encontrarán texturas a relieve como: arena, caracol molido, soga, pintura acrílica y acrílico fluído. Utilicé técnicas con pincel, fuego y un poco de liquido fluido con aire caliente. Siempre he admirado la majestuosidad del mar y cómo se une a lo lejos con el cielo.

Heart Sound está inspirado en mi escencia misma. Plásmo con crayones y colores el sonido de mi corazón, la música que corre por mis venas en cada latido, el metíz de la vida y el brillo del amor para poder vivir. Encontrarán en ésta pieza única materiales como: roca, lentejuelas, acrílico fluido, crayones y brillos de distintas texturas y formas. Es un árduo trabajo de derretido de crayones, moldeo, longitudes específicas y arte original.
