Lyrics (The Bard's Anthem):
With iron wrath he built his throne
On foreign lands of sacred stone;
Against his will no blade could stand,
For he was now lord of the land.
A maiden’s grace crossed his domain,
The land was his but not her plain;
A silken thread her hand had bound,
By law of men to a loving spouse.
He tore the rose from the garden dead
To place a crown upon her head;
“Your silken thread now binds my hand,
For I am Lord of all the land!”
But silk can strangle, soft, then swift,
And iron rusts in silent shift;
The gates were opened from within
By those who paid for all his sins.
He lit the torch and kissed the flame
To melt the world that bore his name;
Both silk and stone turned black as night,
As fire burned both king and wife.
Now ash is all the wind shall blow,
Through fields that grow nothing but moans.
No queen, no king, no land to own;
No silk, no iron, binds no throne.
