These nine horror stories are in subtle, exotic, and dark settings of the supernatural. These environments manifest the inner life of the characters, dominated by fear, passion, and the defiance of death in all cases. They have earthly motivations and interests, but the path they elect to achieve their goal is beyond ordinary and everyday life. For example, Billy Watson has to do something macabre to make his dream of becoming a great writer come true; Vincent Gray first has to die voluntarily to get revenge against his abusers. Alejandro is torn between love, freedom, and sanity to keep his money amid the chaos of the apocalyptic beasts' attack. And the beetle collector can only forgive his father when he finally sees him lost and broken in life, half larvae, and half-man. There is also the anti-hero libertine. A man whose wife swore to love him that he cannot separate her from his side even in her death. Or the young undecided between conflicting feelings when he has to choose between love and revenge with the one who abandoned him, at the risk of his own life. The characters of these nine stories have one thing in common: They are situated on the tightrope of human possibilities, whose balance—a word, a singular action—will determine whether they improve or perish.

Purgatori Ignis Iudicium, the debut album of basque blackers Velka, consists of seven songs in almost an hour of fast, aggressive and raging black metal, although at the same time impregnated with a certain melancholic feeling, also incorporating diverse and differential elements in each song. It is a conceptual album in which the songs have a specific order, their lyrics following the narration of a murky and decadent personal story of descent into the depths of the psyche. The theme of the lyrics revolves around some of the darkest feelings that accompany the human race in certain moments of vital existence: Guilt, purgation, loneliness, consternation, despondency... They explore the limits of sanity and the consequences of the loss of humanity, trying to see how far a self-destructive mind that has lost all glimpses of faith and hope can go. Purgatori Ignis Iudicium is released in CD format by spanish underground labels Base Record Production and Necromance Records (2021) and in cassette tape format by UK based label UKEM Records (2022).
