Nine countries in Latin America—Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Suriname, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Guyana, and French Guiana—share a boundary with the Amazon rainforest, so RFM Production aims to start developing a nine-part series of a docuseries (Titled: Fail to Protect) about the Amazon rainforest and the most recent 5 decades of complicated environmental crimes. With the local authorities turning a blind eye to their conflict to safeguard their heritage and the climate, a large number of Black Indigenous African American and other minorities communities have been on the spotlight of the international community as these indigenous communities fight not to abandon their customs or take a job in rubber, mineral extraction, and/or hydroelectric projects. This nine-part storyline will be undertaken by climate scientist, Rafaela Moura, outside of her officially capacity as a senior advisor for the EPA to deepen the public’s understanding of the significant humanities questions still lingering today and involve humanities scholars to shed light on this complicated history.
