In a world where people have lost the ability to look each other in the eyes and say hello, Anna and her friends attempt to reconnect with what matters most: human contact. The "Alternative" app reminds them to meet face-to-face in the park, and this simple act of communication sparks a movement for transformation. Through shared dreams and collective meditations, they discover the power of social change and the strength of community in a world increasingly absorbed by technology. "Alternative" is a poetic and visually compelling story that explores the effects of digital isolation, the yearning for belonging, and humanity's potential to break barriers and create a more inclusive world. Along their journey, the characters learn that small gestures can have a deep and lasting impact. This project invites us to disconnect from our screens in order to reconnect with those around us.

Alex has developed a unique way of relating to the world around her, a form of connection shaped by her personal history. Throughout her life, Alex has lived under the rigid rules imposed by others, who see the world in terms of order and functionality, where everything has a clear, practical purpose. Yet, Alex has found a different way to connect emotionally with her environment, establishing deep, emotional bonds with everyday objects around her. In her universe, objects like a fork, an iron, or a cushion are not merely tools but companions for dialogue, channels through which she processes her emotions and questions life. While her father lives by absolute rules, Alex finds in these objects an escape into a more fluid and emotional relationship. With them, she has intimate conversations that both confront and support her, projecting onto them the feelings she cannot express in her human relationships, especially with her family. As the story unfolds, we discover how Alex has learned to live this way. Although her approach to relationships is unconventional, it is her adaptation to life—a response to the demands of a rigid environment, yet one that reveals an alternative way of understanding emotional connection. This journey, both inner and outer, challenges the nature of relationships—not only with people but with everything that surrounds us. In this story where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, Alex invites the viewer to reflect on the multiple ways of interacting with life, where even the functional can become emotional, and the rules of others need not always be one’s own.

Tres Veranos Guion V3

Ultimately

In a society where death has been commodified as a means of control and adaptation to the environment, seven stories delve into the existential void left by the uncertainty of an inevitable process. From technology that meticulously organizes every detail of a life to the obsession with planning a "perfect" ending, the characters confront systems that promise security but ultimately strip life of meaning. Amid emotional disconnection, societal pressure, and the relentless need for control, the script reveals how humanity, trapped in the logic of efficiency and consumption, loses its way when faced with its greatest uncertainty: death. Is it possible to find meaning in a world that reduces the end of life to a transaction?

In a not-too-distant future, Edgard, a brilliant and solitary programmer, lives immersed in a digital world dominated by artificial intelligence and automation. In his room, crowded with technological devices, Edgard spends his days working with "WORDS," an advanced system that connects texts and knowledge from the great thinkers of humanity. Through this system, Edgard can interact with philosophical conversations between books such as Foucault's The Order of Things, Dawkins' The Selfish Gene, Skinner's Verbal Behavior, and many more. However, as he navigates these intellectual exchanges, Edgard's personal life begins to crumble. His marriage is in crisis, and after a painful conversation with his wife, she reveals that she no longer loves him. Devastated and isolated, Edgard plunges even deeper into the "WORDS" system, searching for answers that might help him understand the failure of his relationship. But the answers he finds are not what he expected. As the interactions with "WORDS" become more profound, the system poses a disturbing question: how does he know that he himself is not a robot? This question triggers an existential crisis in Edgard, who begins to doubt his own humanity and his place in the world. Trapped between his emotional life and his technological obsession, Edgard embarks on a desperate struggle to disconnect from a reality he can no longer comprehend. But the true challenge is to confront a doubt that not even technology can resolve: what does it mean to be human?

Reflections

**"Reflections"** tells the story of Clara, a 50-year-old woman trying to escape the shadows of a humiliation that has haunted her since childhood. Through a journey that moves from serene, liberating nature to the tension-filled family home, and finally to a small town that whispers and judges, Clara confronts the various prisons the world has imposed on her. What began as a small-town incident, observed and commented on by neighbors, now reemerges as a grotesque spectacle broadcast on national television. In a program that turns her shame into entertainment, Clara finds herself trapped in an even larger prison: the gaze of an entire country, consuming and amplifying her humiliation without mercy. Nature, silent and protective, remains the only refuge in a life shaped by words, mockery, and the weight of public disgrace. As the echoes of her past resonate in the present, Clara must confront a fundamental question: Can she free herself from the reflections of her own shame?

Failures

Frank, a man trapped in a dead-end job, sees his life crumble after being fired. In a society that demands constant success, Frank is sent to a desocialization center, a program where individuals, under the guise of reintegrating into the workforce, undergo a process of learning designed to strip them of their individuality and reshape them to fit the system’s needs. At the center, Frank is subjected to an initially pedagogical process, where he learns to disconnect from his emotions and his sense of identity to conform to societal demands. What starts as a mental and psychological training soon becomes a biological transformation. As the sessions progress, his body begins to mirror a regression to a more instinctive state, a change that goes beyond the mind and takes root in his physical self. Frank transitions from a man controlled by the culture of productivity to a being driven by animal instincts. This more primal, animalistic behavior is not an anomaly, but rather a logical and natural response to the exhaustion caused by a system that has pushed him to the brink. Frank’s transformation is not merely a metaphor for his collapse; it’s a return to his most basic essence, an inevitable reaction to the inhuman pressure of an economic system that leaves no room for failure. "Failures" explores how, in the face of the capitalist system’s overwhelming demand for success and productivity, the individual ultimately becomes self-destructive, leading to a regression to instinctive behaviors where culture and reason are replaced by animalistic impulses. Through this evolution, the story suggests that when individuals are forced to align with a system that strips them of their humanity, the only natural escape is a reversion to their primal nature.
