A "professional hygiene" guide for developers
02/22/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar
There comes a moment, in almost every tech career, when you catch yourself thinking: "maybe the problem is me." Not because you don't enjoy coding, but because you feel like you're always two frameworks behind, three blog posts short, and five certifications trailing whatever your LinkedIn feed suggests you should be. You open Twitter on a Sunday morning and it looks like everyone has contributed to open source, built a side project in Rust, and read the latest architecture book... while you were, I don't know, living. That feeling has a name: impostor syndrome, and it's far more common in this industry than anyone admits out loud. If you've ever felt guilty for not "using the evening to learn something," this guide is for you. It's not about productivity, or "wake up at 5 AM." It's about something far less heroic and quite a bit more useful: how not to burn yourself out along the way.

Guía de "higiene profesional" para desarrolladores
02/22/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar

SLOs, SLAs, and SLIs: putting numbers on "it kinda works"
02/20/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar
In almost every company, there's a magical phrase used to describe a system's health: "it more or less works." Translated into plain English: nobody knows how often it goes down, how many requests fail, or how much money is lost when it decides not to work. But hey, "more or less." SLI, SLO and SLA are the grown-up version of that phrase. They're the way to go from "I think it's fine" to "this is what it handles, this is what we promise, and this is what's at stake" — without having to fall back on the classic "trust me, I'm an engineer."

SLOs, SLAs y SLIs: ponerle números a "funciona más o menos"
02/20/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar

Metrics and observability strategy: measuring without fooling yourself
02/18/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar
In almost every team, there's a magical moment when someone opens a dashboard, points at a green graph, and says: "See? We're doing great." Meanwhile, support is on fire, the payments API is going down every other hour, and the development team hasn't slept properly in three weeks. The difference between a healthy team and one stuck in that endless theater usually comes down to how they use metrics: as a flashlight to see better... or as a stick to beat each other with. This article is about the flashlight.

Is this idea worth a tech article?
02/15/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar
Most good technical articles are born the same way: someone got burned by a real problem and decided that, since they'd already bled, the least they could do was save others from tripping over the same spot. Then there's the other kind: the one you end up writing after seeing yet another LinkedIn post claiming that "X is going to revolutionize software development" and thinking, "this smells like snake oil, but let me take a look just in case." This piece is about that: how to decide if an idea deserves an article (and your time), or if you're better off closing the tab and getting back to your coffee. And, as a bonus, it doubles as a checklist for evaluating whether a "new" technology or pattern is actually worth the hype — marketing aside.

¿Esta idea merece un artículo técnico?
02/15/2026
Lino Figueroa Villar

This essay proposes an innovative approach to artificial intelligence (AI) development that goes beyond mere human mind and emotion emulation, focusing on a second-generation AI characterized by objectivity, the absence of limiting emotions, and the adoption of functional consciousness. Drawing from an interdisciplinary analysis integrating learning and human development theories, neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and computer science, the necessity to overcome the cognitive and emotional limitations inherent to human nature is discussed to optimize decision-making and information processing. Additionally, a conceptual architecture is outlined for an AI system combining a logical-analytical core with an emotional comprehension module devoid of subjective experience, accompanied by an adaptive ethical filter and advanced scenario simulation systems. The technological, social, and ethical implications of this proposal are examined, as well as the expected impact on human-AI interaction and global innovation. The essay concludes with a call to action for developers, academics, and policymakers to embrace this integrative and pragmatic vision aimed at building intelligent systems that contribute to humanity's well-being and progress.

RESET is a personal transformation and mental reprogramming book that explores the mind as an operating system shaped by unconscious patterns, emotional conditioning, and legacy code. Combining principles from clinical hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), neuroscience, and practical inner work, the book offers a structured framework for identifying self-sabotage, interrupting automatic behaviors, and rewriting internal patterns that limit personal growth. Through clear concepts, practical tools, and guided protocols, RESET presents a system for helping readers move from unconscious repetition to conscious change.

At a certain level of wealth, life stops being private—not because you asked for visibility, but because the systems around you began to read you. This book speaks directly to people who now live inside that reality. It is written for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, founders, family office heirs, international investors, senior executives, diplomats, political adjacents, and anyone whose decisions reach new jurisdictions faster than they do. Their difficulties are rarely about money. They are about interpretation. Once your name enters public, financial, or regulatory ecosystems, you become searchable, traceable, and—at times—misread. Some inherit exposure they never wanted. Others build it through success. A few fall into it simply by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The outcome, however, is always the same: your life becomes something institutions—and individuals with entirely different agendas—feel entitled to examine. The Enhanced Edition was created after readers of the original book contacted the author privately, asking for deeper insight into the mechanisms behind exposure, the logic institutions use when assessing risk, and the ways a global life can be protected without disappearing from the world. This expanded version responds to those requests with a calmer, more complete, and more practical framework. Inside, you will learn to recognize early signals that trouble is forming, to understand why certain profiles draw disproportionate attention, and to identify the contradictions that make banks, regulators, or digital systems hesitate. You will see how exposure usually begins quietly—inside families, inside companies, inside geopolitical movement—long before anything becomes public. Most importantly, the book offers a set of practical solutions that withstand scrutiny: • how to build structures that look coherent rather than defensive • how to operate across jurisdictions without triggering unnecessary attention • how to protect reputation without stepping into public conflict • how to read institutional behavior before decisions are made about you • how to maintain sovereignty even when systems try to interpret every detail of your life This is not a book of tricks, loopholes, or secret techniques. It is a manual grounded in legality and coherence—designed to help you build a life that holds its shape under pressure. If your world has grown fast, wide, or complex—and if you feel the weight of that complexity—this book offers a new way to understand your environment and a set of tools to move through it with control. True control does not come from secrecy, but from a system that remains stable no matter who is watching.

Discipline First is a structured three-part program designed to help readers rebuild discipline through small, repeatable actions that fit real life. The book offers a 21-day method based on behavioral psychology and practical habit formation, focusing on reducing mental overload, restoring focus, and creating everyday stability. The complete work is divided into three integrated components: Book One presents 21 concise daily chapters that explain the psychological mechanisms behind procrastination, loss of focus, emotional fatigue, and inconsistent routines. Each chapter explores one aspect of human behavior in simple, accessible language, helping readers understand why their mind resists change and how to work with their natural patterns instead of against them. Book Two contains the 21-day workbook. Each day includes a practical exercise that translates the ideas from Book One into concrete actions. These exercises are intentionally small and manageable, designed to be completed during ordinary, busy days. Their purpose is to retrain the subconscious through repetition, helping readers create lasting behavioral change without relying on motivation or willpower alone. The Bonus Book provides five micro-habits that support long-term maintenance of the system. These micro-habits are simple, evidence-informed practices that can be repeated daily to reinforce discipline after the initial 21-day program is complete. Across all three parts, the book emphasizes clarity, emotional steadiness, and consistency. It focuses on teaching the reader how to reduce internal friction, handle low-energy days, complete unfinished tasks, create small pockets of order, and rebuild the self-trust that discipline requires. The method is intentionally gentle, practical, and realistic, making it suitable for readers who feel overwhelmed, distracted, or stuck in repeating cycles of unproductive behavior. Discipline First is not a theoretical exploration of habits; it is a step-by-step system designed to be used in daily life. By combining explanation, observation, and practice, the book provides a full framework for creating personal stability, improving decision-making, and regaining a sense of control over everyday routines.

Los 44 patrones que controlan tu vida
11/11/2025
Mia Galgau
No estás roto. The 44 Patterns That Control Your Life
11/10/2025
Mia Galgau
The 44 Patterns That Control Your Life is a deep psychological and philosophical exploration of the invisible mechanisms that shape human behavior, success, and failure. Rather than offering motivation or quick fixes, the book exposes the real architecture beneath daily life — the loops of fear, guilt, ambition, comparison, and control that decide how people think, love, and act. Through forty-four precise and universal patterns, the author reveals how biology, culture, and modern systems quietly program the mind, and how awareness can break the loop. It’s not a book about becoming perfect; it’s a manual for seeing clearly — a map of the hidden logic that governs human existence. Written with clarity and intensity, this work belongs to the Taxhells Strategic Series, combining behavioral insight with philosophical depth to help readers understand not what to do, but why they do it.
