Moiras Pub deals with the lives of three girls: Mara, the main character; Lizzy, her ex-girflriend; and Rene a transgender bartender. Destiny plays with their fates in unexpected ways, hence the name of Moiras, referring to the greek mythological goddesses of Birth, Present and Death. Moiras Pub is set in Paraguay in 2042, where every living being has rights, including all animals. Not even milk is allowed. We present this global veganism as something normal, just like today is absolutely normal to go around and ask for a burger. Mara, the main character is frivolous and she finds by chance a fur coat! Worth to mention is that fur coats in this futuristic world are the equivalent of having a lamp made out of human skin. We want to present it as a horrid thing to wear and people get shocked watching her going around with the coat. She ultimately gets what she deserves. In short, the character not aligned with tolerance and only caring about her selfish self finds her own demise. The film also touches upon other subjects such as pollution, which is a major problem in Paraguay and drug abuse, another significant issue. It is also difficult for vegans to find variety of options for their menu at an accessible price.
