Depression's Glory
09/26/2013
It woke me my dreary sky   wrapped me inside my melancholy. I felt miserable within the depressive touch  like a child with a fever,  I covered up  Allowing sorrow to hold me with  lifeless strokes across my unhappiness and  uninspiring whispers that  lowered my resistance.  Sadness feed me, nurtured my sorrow while  dejection’s unhappy melody  sang the blues to my despondence.  In misery I fell off the cliff inside my woe  Depression’s crowning glory Copyright © 2013 SaFire

Morning Glory
09/01/2013
Marlboro  smoke thick circles the room   in a haze of light  and shades sex fills it with excess.  He inhaled my surplus  in a waft,   heaving and wheezing,   my neglect.  Cheap perfume over  funk I pour myself a Scotch waiting for him to leave. My 3 o’clock, it’s way after four.  I got to pee clean  my  cock   for the next jock, but this nigger won’t go.  He’s wasting  my time on his thin dime. Laying sprawled on the bed, like he  ain’t heard. Another pull and I’m ready to blow. “You got to

Sandman Blues
08/20/2013
He watches A silhouette in the night A faceless shadow standing At the foot of her bed He stares at her sleeping.  The rise and fall of her breathing  Hypnotizes the Sandman    even in the darkness He sees her clearly His beloved nightingale Her exotic lines speaks to him    feminine curves excites   Causes his phantom urges to ignite He longs to touch her His delicate flower To taste her moist lips bath in the warmth of her arms and  be baptize in the feeling of her soft wetness He stares

Winter's Walk
07/28/2013
A cold breeze crossed my face as I walked.  I took in the refreshing frigid air into my lungs and  stopped to stare at the splendor of the snow-covered world that surrounds me. It’s quiet within  the stark whiteness of the fresh fallen snow in the forest of my winter wonderland. It called me, beckoning me to venture out into it’s frosty wasteland.   I walk further out  through the crisp snow greeted by  animals playing happily and  birds flying high in the blue grey sky.    I march absently f

Toxic Love
07/09/2013
The Black mushroom cloud  Filling up my Blue Sky You blew in like the acid wind, Disrupting my system Sending shockwaves   Through my live in a haze You brought fire and heat  To my inner peace Brown eyes, smoldering my desires  flash burned my need Your toxic touch scorched  Bore holes in my soul  Keloid my opened wounds Yet I wasn't aware, or just didn't care My heart didn't recognize the poison Seeping into my organs Proliferated in your lies  My inner bleeding unseen You'd b

Hopeful
07/02/2013
The reflection she sees is youthful in appearance.    Shapened with the sharpen scalpel in her mind's eye. Yet she is hopeful that the wrinkles around her eyes and mouth   are hidden with the thick makeup she applies. She’s hopeful he doesn’t notice her aged hands or her sagging breasts.   Hopefully he doesn’t see the grey the dye missed. She hopes that her money will last, and he doesn't have wayward eyes,  for  fairer skin, slimmer waist and hair that's not thin.  She’s hopeful  that if he onl

Her Eye
06/19/2013
Artist Svenja jödicke The painter dashed from his bed and grabbed his brushes.  Obsessed, he painted  madly as the orange sun crested the morning sky. Paint spilled while brushes flew against the blank canvas with grace and speed as the master painter created an image from his memory. He had to work fast or his vision would fade. Desperately he worked trying to recapture the image of the woman in his dreams.  She came to him every night, whispering her undying love and each morning before he w

Blowing in the Wind
06/01/2013
Here I am again waiting Watching the wind blow the sands I’m waiting…… to change these opinions To be moved by you… waiting I’m ready to let go of my inhibitions My fears and… my perception Of what I thought I knew I’m ready to turn Like the blowing of the sand Turn…… to what is possible I’m ready to let go of my fears To seek purpose in this life of tears Was I  made to live in a world That wasn’t always meant for good That wasn’t always meant to be cruel I’m here for greater thi

Keeping the Walls from Falling
05/01/2013
It can be beautiful and fabulous Ugly and tragic trying to keep the walls From falling down When you feel sad, alone and lonely You think love is only meant for some  I ’m be that rock you can cry on The one that keeps the walls  at bay   It’s okay if you want to play Asking strangers to your bed I’ll be there, your conscious in sin When the world comes crashing down When the alcohol runs out And drugs can no longer   dull the pain I’ll be there to bring it home The one that keeps the secrets

Happy Poetry Writing Month

NaPoWriMo, or National Poetry Writing Month, is an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day for the month of April. NaPoWriMo, founded in 2003, when poet Maureen Thorson decided to take up the challenge. She modeled this  after NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. Sunday Afternoon
05/01/2013
A strong spring breeze Flutters  white curtains of an open window rays of a noonday sun brighten the room with a raspberry hue Saturating it in honeysuckle scent Read and discarded  Sunday’s paper scatters across the wooden floor Suddenly a page takes flight, gracefully falling Contrary with the  soft sounds of smooth jazz Soiled dishes  cold coffee Silent flashes of cellphones waits on the nightstand abandon Beside an unmade bed In delighted bliss   prone on the littered floor a bead of sweat r

He Played Me
05/01/2013
The place was crowded as glasses tinkled With the noise of dialogue that muffled in my ears Smoke streamed in waves as he walked out on stage I looked, he stared, this man of jive smiled As he rigmarole among empty chairs To place his tackle, he removed his instrument A black beauty she was long and sleek Licking her up, all warm and tender He kept his eyes on me An olde school player with his paraphernalia He took the mick with flimflam flair, Pulling their attention, hushing the cackle a

For An Instant
05/01/2013
Deciding on a latte or regular when I heard the chime I turned on a dime, watching him Enter  Tall , dark and sleek An ancient Greek, he smiled And I wanted his lovechild And just for the briefest of beats  I imagined myself his lover,   his submissive, his Muse  and his friend  blended in passion For a second I held my breath   and let the tingle run through my loins like Desdemona, no longer single till death do us part  I felt out of breath For an instant  I saw a wild, intense    insa
