Narrado pelo próprio edifício Vivaldi, é uma história que convida o leitor a um mergulho de volta à adolescência e os primeiros passos da idade adulta: relembra os ritos de passagem, as alegrias e decepções de pessoas incertas acerca de seu futuro, e que se veem impotentes diante da ganância de uma incorporadora que pretende por abaixo o velho Edifício Vivaldi e todas as "ultrapassadas" construções que rodeiam um bairro espremido pelos arranha-céus da grande cidade. Mas aqueles que só têm olhos para o céu não previram que esses jovens moradores, assistiriam, impassíveis, sua juventude ir ao chão, e já que os esforços dos adultos não dão resultado, eles têm um plano audacioso para salvar Vivaldi e o bairro.
