Based on a true story; The Porcelain Queen revolves around the lives of three of the last men to be sentenced
to death in the UK following the brutal murder of a gay man. Caught in a passionate embrace by his friends, the closeted Jon lashes out at his lover, attacking him for his supposedly unwanted advances, killing him in the process. Their young lives spiralling into a nightmare, Mick and Will are coerced into covering for their friend, only to find themselves implicated as Jon attempts to save himself. DS Howlett, the lead detective on the case must navigate his homophobic prejudices as well as those of the Met in order to seek justice for the victim, all whilst attempting to build bridges with his estranged son, currently wrestling with his own identity in a changing 1960s London.
