Supposed social activism, a political agenda, and drug trafficking were mixed to give way to the creation of paramilitary groups. The complicity of corrupt officials meant that the institutional framework fostered the rule of impunity over the absence of justice.
Sociological, journalistic, and human rights studies have tried to show the world what happened in the region. But this work shows the x-ray from the entrails of the monster, from a perspective that no one else could reveal.
