Poetic Nightmares Insomnia Poems “The Constant Struggle” Upon life's vast stage, where eternity unfurls, Satan, the cunning, spreads his wicked curls, With trickery and deceit, he weaves his darkened swirls, Sowing seeds of chaos, where despair unfurls. If humanity shunned vanity and lies, The malice of evil would meet its demise, Yet, ensnared in his web, we succumb to disguise, And fall prey to his schemes, where darkness lies. If judges upheld justice with unwavering sight, And leaders rejected greed, embracing what's right, Then the radiance of truth would shine bright, Dispelling the shadows of Satan's blight. But in our society, blinded by our own plight, We allow evil to flourish, consumed by its might, Leaving our children to face the endless night, In a world of confusion, devoid of light. As the relentless clock ticks, marking the flight, We battle in darkness, with all our might, Between hope's fervent plea, seeking respite, And shadows lurking, waiting to ignite. In this eternal drama, where we take flight, Will faith's beacon guide us, through the night? Can we conquer evil, with love as our kite? In this cosmic dance, where wrong and right. ©RodrigoRoyo.com

I received a bunch of flowers by mistake
11/08/2022
Poems about being a woman Natalie Blunt's poetry is a healing balsam. Her insightful verses dive deep into the secret lives of women. They are songs about love, betrayal, motherhood, grief, melancholy, the passage of time, memories and loneliness. Each of her poems can be read as a short story, or as a reminder phrases of self-care, personal growth and self-love. I Received a Bunch of Flowers by Mistake is a carousel of contradictory emotions written with delicacy, melancholy and a bit of humor. Excerpts: Beauty is a matter of faith not a matter of fact. * * * Plants also grow downward, their roots sink into the dark earth. Neither earthworms nor blind moles can admire this secret and rare beauty. It doesn't matter in which direction you decide to grow. Expand as you like hide yourself if you prefer, grow as much as you wish, the sky is vast, but so are the depths of the earth. * * * All bodies have scars. Not all of them are easily noticeable. Some are hidden, others are too tiny for the eye to see. Our entire body is a scar, from the day we were born. The smoothest skin has tiny scars, because we have all been wounded, sometimes without even being aware of it, without knowing who is responsible. Here is the list, still in progress, of the usual suspects: ourselves those we love the most the merciless time. * * * I would look at myself as if I was seeing myself for the first time, with a certain surprise. I would touch my face as if I were blind, as if I wanted to learn to recognize myself not by the sense of sight but by the sense of touch. * * * From time to time tell yourself all the wonderful things you deserve. Don't stop congratulating yourself even for the smallest things. Finishing the day is one of them. Even praise yourself if you haven't done what others expected of you, what you were supposed to do. The days when you feel you have failed in the worst way are when you should be most proud of yourself. Content protected by copyright ©. * * *

Un paseo por la niebla
05/01/2017

Misanthropically Inclined

From the depths of a poetic despair, this book is a thought-provoking, emotional work of an exhausted romantic. An author's exclamation mark to the society as well as a personal challenge, that despite the title, brought out the best in the humankind.

©RodrigoRoyo.com Poetic Nightmares Insomnia Poems “The Constant Struggle” Upon life's vast stage, where eternity unfurls, Satan, the cunning, spreads his wicked curls, With trickery and deceit, he weaves his darkened swirls, Sowing seeds of chaos, where despair unfurls.
