In the coastal Uruguayan town of Holbrook, sixteen-year-old Beatrice “B” Voss-Williams stumbles into a hidden world of supernatural creatures after a werewolf attacks her brother and dog. Alongside her best friends Jonah and Mya, B begins hunting the forces threatening her town, using her quick thinking and robotics know-how to trap monsters that blur the line between ally and enemy.
While juggling school, friendships, and first crushes, B is unknowingly circling closer to the real danger: her father Edward, a local politician who has secretly become a Mesmer (able to control minds) under the sway of Holbrook’s shadowy mayor. As Edward manipulates his way into power, B must reconcile the image of the doting father who trains her in self-defense with the growing realization that he may be orchestrating the town’s descent into chaos.
The season builds to a devastating revelation: the man terrorizing Holbrook is Edward himself. When he secures victory as city council president, B is unable to expose or stop him, and flees Holbrook for the summer, leaving behind her fractured family, her friends, and a town now firmly under her father’s control.
