About the work

Seven-year-olds Ben Calhoun and Lacy Seacrest thought sneaking into the town cemetery under the cover of darkness would be just a childhood dare. But when an angry spirit emerged from the shadows, Ben was left scarred, haunted by the trauma of a night that would forever change his life.

Now in his early twenties, Ben is an ambitious journalism student with demons of his own. When tasked to investigate the very same sinister presence that once terrorized him as a child, Ben reluctantly returns to Dagger’s Draw, a town steeped in chilling legends and blood-drenched secrets. Among those joining him are classmates vying for recognition, a cryptic professor, and Lacy, who knows far more than she lets on about the town’s harrowing past.

But as the nightmarish entity reawakens, tragic histories bleed into the present. Death follows the group’s every step as the town's long-buried truths begin to unravel. The spirit, enraged and unbound, targets the students one by one, dragging them into the darkness. Betrayals cut deep, secrets emerge, and the line between friend and foe becomes impossibly blurred.

For Ben, the truth about the spirit and his own family’s past may hold the key to survival—but it also demands a deadly price. With time running out and allies turning into enemies, can Ben face his deepest fears and unravel the truth before Dagger’s Draw consumes him too?

Terrifying, atmospheric, and filled with shocking twists, Dagger’s Draw is a gripping exploration of betrayal, revenge, and the dark legacies that haunt us. Are you ready to confront the ghost of the past? Or will the shadows claim you too?
